Worship Ministry
The purpose of the Silent Ministry is to provide an opportunity for the hearing impaired (the deaf, hard-of-hearing, late deafened and deaf-blind people) to worship, learn and hear God’s Word during Sunday Morning Worship service, to interpret the service from song to prayer to the sermon to joining and giving.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to serve the needs of the hearing impaired, deaf, hard-of-hearing, late deafened and deaf-blind people, so that they can worship, learn and hear God’s Word. We want the hearing impaired to worship with us every Sunday.
Goal
Our goal is to provide ASL sign language during Sunday Morning Worship service, to continuously develop and grow the ministry to touch those in the community that are hearing impaired.
Who do we serve?
We serve the Pastor, the congregation and the hearing impaired.
Where do we meet?
We meet once a year or as needed. Meeting day and time will be announced during morning worship service.
What are our special needs or services?
We participate in Sunday Morning Worship Service to interpret the entire service; we work with area residential centers and organizations to make them aware of our Silent Ministry so that they can attend service with us, if there is an interest.
What skills or characteristics do we seek in our team?
A commitment to serving Christ. A proficient level of ASL sign language experience.
Is there a uniform or colors to be worn?
No.
